The Washington Post is my favorite online news source for national politics. I read the article about Dr. Sanjay Gupta being appointed to the office of Surgeon General. Interesting pick, interesting article.

Then I indulged myself and took a peek at the comments. Here is the comment I left.

Every now and then I scroll down to look at the comments. I have the impression that comments are usually offensive, partisan, anti-intelligent rantings a decent person would never say to another person’s face.

I have the impression that anonymity does not simply reveal the worst, it encourages it.
